Portobello Road was literally a hive of activity on Sunday, with one of our young traders bringing their beehive along. It was buzzing! Thousands of visitors to the market received a bonus as over seventy young traders were nestled in with the Portobello Sunday summer markets. Our young traders came with street food from around the world offering both sweet and savoury options with a fantastic candy floss artist who sculpted cotton candy into novelty character shapes. The arts and crafts section were represented by twenty amazing artists, designers and makers from all over the London’s and Southeast regions. Visitors were tempted by breath taking cake creations including traditional sweet and savoury bakes, Russian oreshki, and Indonesian cakes. General retail was represented by traders with a great mix of candles, clothes both vintage and new, beauty products, accessories and pet food. The sun was shining, and the market was bustling all day. Due to the high numbers of traders attending the London and Southeast regional final, twelve traders were awarded Winners and highly commended prizes and will be going through to the national final in August.
