If the goods that were sold do not last a reasonable length of time then the customer may be entitled to some money back. Traders should consider here whether it would be reasonable to expect the goods to last for the time period the customer expected them to. Additionally new measures reforming regulators powers to enforce consumer law have been introduced. What this means is that enforcers, such as Trading Standards, will have greater flexibility in dealing with any breaches of the law. Hopefully this provides a useful summary of the new law relating to the sale of goods, but traders should be aware that this is simply an overview and other factors may need to be considered depending upon the individual circumstances.
