Yorkshire and Humber regional final goes well in Doncaster despite overcast sky
TRADITIONALLY the Yorkshire and the Humber regional final is held as closely as possible to Yorkshire Day (August 1) and it took place on Saturday July 30 in Doncaster — a town still celebrating after being awarded city status.
Nearly 30 young traders took part and the 10 who got the awards are all eligible to take part in the National Final at Stratford-upon-Avon over the August bank holiday weekend.
They include the overall winner Lauren Bower (pictured below with the other successful competitors), who impressed the judges with her handmade home and giftware.
The event was held at Doncaster Market thanks to the operators Market Asset Management who stepped in when it was learned it could not take place in York as originally planned.
And the rain just about held off for what once again proved to be an enjoyable regional final with the usual high quality young traders and goods.
