The North East regional final
winners at Durham

IT WAS extremely windy, but the North East regional YTM final took place as planned in Durham Market Place.
A total of 25 traders braved the elements to compete for a place in the national final in August.
The crowds did not disappoint and came out despite the weather to support the young traders on their journey.
A good selection of arts and crafts included crocheted items, bath bubbles and illustrations.
The grocery category was difficult to judge due to the exceptional  standard of all five bakers.
General retail saw some amazing vintage clothes, plants and giftwear but the overall winner was from the food and drink category with home brewed beer.
Thanks to Durham MP Mary Foy and Mayor Coun Lesley Mavin for stopping by, and to the judges — Deputy Mayor Coun Liz Brown, City of Durham Parish Council Clerk Adam Shanley and BID Manager Paul Howard. Equally thanks go to Durham Markets for hosting the day and providing entertainment from Radio Durham, face painting and local singers through the afternoon.
