The London and South East regional final winners at Hackney
Hackney Markets hosted the London and South East regional final on a specially designed market running alongside the regular Sunday Broadway Market.
Fifty traders attended selling delicious foods from around the world, hand-made crafted items, prints, illustrations, candles, clothing both old and new, ethical sustainable household good and cakes and bakes of every variety.
The judges had a a tough time choosing winners and highly commended traders amongst these extremely talented young people, who had competed in local heats across the London boroughs and Eastbourne, Horsham and other south east areas. The Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Schools in Hackney, Jules Pipe, came along to meet the new traders and awarded the trophies for the winners and highly commended young traders who will be going through to the national final in Stratford-upon-Avon at the August bank holiday weekend.
The under-16s were represented by the local Youth Club , H.O.P.E. and the talented award- winning author Romeo Bremmer from Young LIT Stars. Both received Young Trader of the Future commendations.
