5: Display techniques
You can improve the impact of your stall by using a wide variety of different display techniques to enhance and promote your products better.
• Where possible, display products so that they ‘face’ the customer (i.e. face forwards) and standing up (‘flat’ products have less impact)
• Group products together by colour or by similar packaging. This helps to create a noticeable ‘block’ of product
• Light up the stall and angle any lighting
towards the products to emphasis them
• Use a mannequin or display stand to
bring the product/outfit and its
accessories ‘alive’
If you have shelving or rails, also consider the following:
• Use the very top shelf for display only.
Customers can rarely reach this shelf/rail so it is
not a good idea to try and ‘sell’ from it
• Display products in size order (customers expect the smaller sizes to be at the front or in the case of shelving, higher up)

Display these products so that customers can instantly recognise them. Give them the importance that they deserve
• Display these products at the
front of your stall
• Have signage that says ‘best
sellers’, ‘new’, ‘special offer’, etc.
to help them to stand out
• If you can, give them a little
more space
